Appointed by G42 Healthcare, LTS led the design and specification of a new wastewater analysis laboratory in Abu Dhabi.
The facility is designed to serve as a regional leader in monitoring and detecting chemical, biological, and lifestyle-related hazards.
With BSL-2 and BSL-3 capabilities, AI-powered analysis, and automated sampling, this ±1,500 sqm facility is built to anticipate and act on potential health threats — before they escalate.

Challenge

High-Spec Lab, High-Stakes Mission

The challenge was multifaceted: high biosafety standards, complex equipment integration, automated sample handling, and AI-readiness.

All within a space that needed to be safe, scalable, and ready for rapid response.

G42 Healthcare needed a world-class wastewater laboratory — designed to process complex samples and deliver early warnings for public health.

Approach

Process-Driven Design with Integrated Intelligence

Through end-user workshops, we mapped operational flows and regulatory requirements.

These were converted into detailed room data sheets, equipment specifications, and spatial calculations.

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, we oversaw the full documentation package — from layout to lab-grade fit-out — aligning with both UAE regulations and international biosafety standards.

LTS led a rigorous, collaborative process to translate user needs into precise design and documentation.

Result

An AI-Ready, Biosafety-Compliant Lab for the Region

G42 now operates a lab capable of identifying infectious agents, pharmaceutical compounds, parasites, and other environmental threats — all through AI-assisted analysis.

The design not only meets today’s biosafety needs but positions G42 at the forefront of preventative diagnostics across the MENA region.

The completed facility delivers high-throughput testing, rapid risk detection, and world-class biosafety controls.
